Leave a CoinYou may notice several coins in odd places around the Inn, especially on the stone walls. This isn’t spare change accidentally dropped by patrons. Instead, each coin was carefully placed by someone just like you.
When the Inn was built, there was a wishing well in the yard, and it was common for people to toss a coin or two in as they made their wish. When the well was filled in, guests of the Inn continued the tradition by placing coins on the walls. You’ll see them all over the Inn during your stay. Feel free to leave a coin and become a part of the rich history of the Fairfield Inn.
What to Expect at the Historic Fairfield Inn
History is built into our name, and when you stay with us, we invite you to become part of it. Expect to be amazed at the 18th century building. At over 256 years old, the Inn has plenty of charm. You may notice a slight tilt to some of the floors, but don’t worry, the beds and bathrooms are modern! Each room has a private bathroom, so you’ll never have to share with other patrons. And you don’t have to worry about the Innkeeper hanging around in the evenings… he spends the nights at his home.
